How To Place Your Order
Embossing and Debossing are frequently confused, so we are here to help whichever one you want. Embossing is when you push up and raise the surface of the material, debossing is when you stamp down into the surface creating a sunken indentation. Whichever version you want we can supply you with the best result.
Identify the area to be embossed, the finished product, quantity, stock and whether foil is also required. The depth and clarity of the impression depend on the artwork, die, material thickness and position. Avoid placing critical reverse-side content directly behind a deep impression. Vector artwork is preferable for the die, and a physical proof or sample may be useful for particularly detailed or registration-sensitive work.
FAQs
Embossing raises the design above the surface, while debossing presses it into the material to create a recessed impression.
It creates the raised detail without adding ink or foil.
Yes. Foil can be registered with an embossed area for a metallic tactile finish.
It can, depending on the process, depth and material, so the reverse-side design should be considered during planning.
Supply clean vector artwork for the area to be tooled, alongside the full print artwork and finishing instructions.
